Research & Development

We support, encourage and lead Early Years research and innovation

One of the four key aspects of our role as an Early Years Hub is to lead and disseminate Research and Development to enhance pedagogy and advocate evidence based school improvement.

Each of the Nursery Schools have their own focused areas of specialism in which they participate in active research. The two lead Schools have also completed research projects that have been recognised for their significance and innovation.

Bedworth Heath Nursery School has specialised in SEND support for multiple and complex needs within their environment and has also led the Closing the Gap research project.  Whilst Kenilworth Nursery developed a mental health research project in collaboration with a consultant child and adolescent psychotherapist that explored emotional barriers to learning and direct mental health support provision for children and families within a Nursery School.

Kenilworth are also leading research now on Blended Learning in Early Years and the impact of the Covid-19 lockdown on young children’s development.
